My belief is that it will be one of those three. And this is a team that signed Jay Payton. They will pay what it takes.

I would be good with that actually. Too bad we have Trumbo. An OF of Jay/Jones/Hays would be promising, with Gentry as the 4th OF. Mancini at DH.

Gentry is a 4th OF, defensive replacement. He’s not becoming a regular at this late date.

I'm not sure why the Orioles would choose to platoon Jay with Gentry. Jay's L/R splits are pretty even for his career and would seem to be an everyday leadoff candidate, if signed. Is there something about Gentry that I am missing?

Trumbo is an anchor on the flexibility of the 25-man (that Chris Davis isn't)
