I Really Thought Manny Was Going To Get Off To A Blazing Start.

(APRIL 22nd)

Machado has 8 home runs, 7 doubles, is batting .356 with a .434 OBP, and his OPS. is 1.147 ........ and it's still April.

Of course, the term "start" is relative to the beholder ........ a start could be 4 or 5 games, it could be 15-20 games, or it could be 40 games (about 1/4 of the season.)

I do think that 4 or 5 games is premature.

Yes he's almost beautiful when he's hot............, but for that haircut.:D

Maybe when he gets a big contract, he will be able to get a better haircut.  That type of haircut usually results in lawsuits.

What should it be called?  The bowl cut?

Maybe I don't know what I'm looking at it, but it looks like Manny is wearing a hair piece.  You can see his natural hair under the long straight hair.

Either that or went through some process where he got it straigtened.  I am not a hair expert.  It's weird either way and someone needs to tell him it's not a good look.

Manny is hitting unbelievably right now.

His early at-bats against Kluber reminded me of Bonds at one point late in his career. He picks the pitches to do damage to and he sees one per at bat at most.

So, for the record:

.356/.434/.713, 8 HR, 7 2B, 17 RBI in 22 games.

And, as the OP notes, Manny didn’t do much over the first week.  Over the last 15 games he’s hitting .417/.485/.917.    All of his homers and RBI, and all but one of his doubles, have come in that 15-game stretch.

There's no way what we see is what he walks around looking like. I'm curious to see what he does with it when he isn't playing baseball.

When he's out and about it likely looks like that. The pretty typical hipster undercut. It just looks awful without product or styling.

It still looks terrible without the helmet. Yuck.
