They ABSOLUTELY shouldn't have played Sunday's game either. The players run the deeper risk of injury in 35 degree weather. It was absurd to have players exposed to that. Baseball and the players association needs to take a long look at what passes for "suitable conditions" and temperature should be on that list.

These are professional adults they should be able to play in cold weather.  Football players play in heavy rain and snow. It should be more about the fans.   They are the ones that are paying.

I still believe that no season should start no earlier then the second Monday of April and the first week and a half ( 10 days are at warm weather or dome stadiums..  Then that Thursday of the second week the other 15 teams have their openers.  Then throw in 5 double headers for teams to keep the same number of days off.  The argument is the owners will lose money but how much are they losing when it is too cold for fans to attend or a star player get a pulled muscle.  The 5 double header games the teams are allowed to go to 28 man roster to not hurt their bullpen for over use.

Football is completely different they are all running around keeping them warm.  Only a few guys are needed to grip a ball.  They can take a break every few minutes if they are receiver or running back to warm up quick..  They also are not trying hit a baseball as hard as possible to get on base when it is like hitting a rock.
