I am a well documented Manny hater....and even I see nothing wrong with this play.

Manny swings, drops his head, then his bat.  IF anyone  has an issue with anything here...it likely says more about them than Manny.  I don't see anything to be upset about here.

Bigger question, who cares?  He's not an Oriole any more, chances are good he'll never be an Oriole again until he's at the end of his career, and unless it's in a game against the Orioles, who cares?  The Orioles got 6.5 years of a really special talent, the likes of which this franchise has never seen before, and might never see again.  But, why we need to keep talking about him and what he does in somebody else's uniform is baffling.

The umpire is correct when he says that contact isn't a requirement for interference to be called and also when he says that it doesn't have to be intentional for it to be interference.  Having said that, I'm really not seeing any inference on the replay angle that we have.  I have no idea what the announcer sees that is "bush league."  If there is contact, I don't see it.  The bat doesn't cause any problem, and Machado runs behind the catcher, not between the catcher and the ball.  Strange call, IMO.

What shocked me was that Manny ran harder out of the box on a foul ball than he usually does on one that is in play.

You know, this brings up a point I was thinking about the other day.  I do not like Manny, and it appears he's at least lit a bridge on fire with the Orioles if not burned it down.  But all that said, suppose in 3 years this rebuild is complete and the Orioles are strong contenders.  Do you make an offseason trade before the 2022 season to bring in Manny for the remaining 7 years of that contract as the final piece to a World Championship run?

That's a pretty valid question.  And whether or not that conversation belongs here is certainly a fair one.  I can't answer if it does belong, but ShaneDawg, I gotta tell you.  I will always care about Manny.  I don't mean because he was once an Oriole.  Lot's of folks have that and plenty of players have passed through here on their way up or on their way down in their career.  But I had the pleasure of seeing all of the Oriole HOF players play and I have had the pleasure of watching all of the players that have come since.  Some very very good ones, including new HOF inductee Mussina.

Manny Machado is the best player the Orioles have drafted and produced in 40 years.  That he will join Mussina as a HOF drafted by the Orioles but allowed to get away, is not guaranteed but is assumed.  That both of these occurred under current Ownership is without question two of the blackest marks on the Baltimore Orioles and in my opinion go a long way towards explaining what has been wrong here.

And as we turn a page, I remain hopeful that we are in a new age.  But I will refuse to punish Manny or Mussina because the Owner of my team did not recognize the value of keeping HOF talent.  Manny is not a saint.  But to me he will always be an Oriole and I will always be interested in what he does, even if it is not here.

A lot of us are baseball fans in general and not just Orioles-exclusive in our interest. 

That being said, I don't see anything wrong with what Manny did here. But, he's not going to get the benefit of the doubt anytime soon.

If someone else can show me a play where Machado pops up and then carries his bat down the line a couple steps and tosses it in the same spot I won't question his motives. Meanwhile, we are talking about Manny Machado here. He has a history and reputation for a reason. He also does things that make you scratch your head so I don't see how anyone thinks we should be giving him the benefit of the doubt on a questionable action.
