Can we see Stewart, Cisco, Mountcastle instead of Martin, Severino, and Rickard?

As much as I’d like to see those three playing for the O’s right now I don’t think it’s the time. Those guys can still benefit from getting everyday playing time and at bats in Norfolk. Let’s not rush

No need to rush Mountcastle, even if the Orioles are struggling. The others are debatable. I'd be a little surprised if they are ready to give up on Martin though. I hoped they would get Iglesias for shortstop in the off-season.

Hard to break into the O's right now if you are a corner outfielder or a first baseman.  

I'd personally get rid of Alberto and have Wilkerson spell the infielders when one of them needs to sit.  That gets DJ up here.  Wilkerson could be playing 2B on a lot of days with Villar at SS.  The other option is to send down Rickard and just play Wilkerson everyday. I'm not necessarily against that.  They like Wilkerson's defense enough to play Rickard in RF on days they are both in the lineup. 

DFA'ing Davis in July when he's still hitting under .200 and OPS'ing under .600 could get Mountcastle up here. 

They probably want to give Wynns a longer look as the backup.  Severino isn't going anywhere.  Still expect to see Sisco up at some point.

Still can't believe he signed for peanuts and we had no interest. I just can't with the Rule 5 thing anymore. It doesn't work. It's the same story every year.

Rickard, Severino, Castro Down, Alberto DFA are three easy moves. I am openly sceptical of Sisco’s defense, but hell, why not try him out anyway. Stewart can come up and lumber around the OF. Can’t be worse then the slop we’re throwing out there now( and sadly I said the same thing last season. Our OF defense isn’t appreciably improved ? )

Agree. He’s not going anywhere especially because Villar at SS would require Wilkerson at 2B and make Rickard a full-time CF again, and no thanks.

The advanced fielding metrics on Martin don't agree that he is valuable with the glove.

The so what is Martin can’t hit and is a mediocre at best fielding. He is only here until his replacement comes along via the farm system, trade or draft. He has been a disappointment.

I don’t argue with that at all, but we can’t get rid of him now because we don’t have anybody with whom to replace him.

      Awesome research, thanks. I was a fan in 1974 but had forgotten that string of five shutouts.  This last two weeks of rotation excellence (and your list) is giving me flashbacks to the summer of love (1967), when I started to make game logs to savor the strings of shutouts and low-hit gems by Oriole starters. Looking back now at the game logs kept by Baseball-Reference (manually, without your sorting skills!), it's hard to identify exactly which streak so impressed my teenage fan-meter, or even which year. Certainly 1968 was all about low scoring league-wide.  Maybe it was the stretch 22-27 May 1967 featuring Phoebus, Bertaina, Barber, McNally, and Phoebus again (good old 4-man rotation!), including three scoreless outings. Or Hardin and Brabender joining Phoebus, McNally and Palmer from 15 to 20 September, 1967. What about 1969, with Cuellar, Lopez and Leonhard joining the previous cast of McNally, Phoebus, and Hardin, twirling 10 starts (13-22 June) while allowing only 12 runs.  Anyway, it feels rather historic to see this run of high-end pitching from an Orioles rotation. Here's a chart to recap the numbers on this streak in progress...       Somehow feels typical of Orioles to play up to the competition, and get burned by the pretenders... same with individual starting pitchers.

      It was very obvious ...he would also take a look at his hand frequently. On Saturday, watching a clip in the dugout after one of the HR's, Kremer went to give a high five, pulled back and took a look at his hand. I thought it strange, and I thought something was off. He always appeared to be one of the more enthusiastic celebrators. It would seem the coaches would notice and probably did, but thought nothing of it. Certainly didn't affect his game.

      I just looked thru their record a while ago.  Series against the Nats (2), White Sox, Marlins, Cardinals, Rockies and Angels makes their record of 1 win better than the O's way less impressive.  Their schedule coming up must be hell.
