So Gausman gets to pick between one year/18.9m  or a long term contract in free agency.   Kevin will turn 30 in January.

I am surprised they would do that to but it will probably be at a discount because I think they know they are going to play less than a full season.

In his last 27 starts his ERA is around 3.80. If he could offer that value over the course of the 2021 season he’s probably worth it. But, they might offer him a 3-4 year deal to bring that number down.

Pitchers have been way overpaid for a few years now, just look at the FAs that have come through this team.
