Fry started a clean inning and he has been our best reliever and he looks terrible today.  There isn’t much help at AAA either as they are giving up 7 runs a game.

Yep. We know they are generally not the better team going into a game, but the shoddy play is what is embarrassing.

Heres an idea: don’t let your tiring starter start an inning.

Means had a great, easy 6th inning, after struggling in the 5th.  What leads you to believe he was tiring?

So yes, that confirms the often-repeated problem of leaving the starter in too long.

You don’t pull a starter after 1 bad inning lmao. You’d burn out a bullpen in one month. You’re already seeing what happens when you pull starters willy nilly every game. ‘Pen is clearly fatigued.

Interesting that Scott didn’t come out for the new inning even though he’s also a lefty, but it certainly doesn’t matter anymore at this point.
