Palmer is great with numbers, including LH/RH splits, but I don't get the obsession with how much run support starters like Lopez and Harvey are getting.   These guys aren't going to pitch complete games or even into the 7th inning.   Does anyone judge SPs on W-L any longer?    Their job is to pitch into the 6th in theory (seemingly impossible for Lopez) and give your team a chance to win the game.   If they give up three runs and the game is a 3-1 loss due to lack of offense no one is blaming the SP.   I doni't see what getting bombed for 5-6 runs in 4-5 innings has to do with how much run support you are getting.

Harvey gets run support, has zero effect on his performance.  Palmer's views on run support are from old-style baseball.
