Game Notes

-- Freddy Galvis getting a day off.   Hyde says he isn't hurt, but is a bit knicked up and hasn't had a day off in a while, so he forced him to sit today.   Galvis wanted to play.

-- This is the Orioles last home game at 25% capacity.

-- The carnage with runners in scoring position continues:
-- Twins series:  Orioles are 0/24 with RISP
-- Since last Monday the Orioles are 4/56 (.071) with RISP, 40/162 (.247) without a runner in scoring position
-- Starting with the second inning last Sunday in Washington, the Orioles are 4/63 (.063) with RISP.

Orioles are 11-5 on Memorial Day since 2000, the 4th best record in baseball over that time period.   I personally remember a good Memorial Day win I attended where we beat Keuchel and the Astros.

I'm wearing a previous Memorial Day giveaway, a t-shirt picture of the batting cartoon Oriole bird with an American flag flying from his bat.

Kohl Stewart, who opted out of the season for the Orioles last year due to Covid after it seemed likely he would have a rotation spot, is starting for the Cubs today.   He's replacing Trevor Williams, who had an emergency appendectomy yesterday.

Today:  0/3 (.000) with runners in scoring position, 1/1 (1.000) without RISP.

Now 4 for our last 66.

I AM SO G&#DAMNED SICK OF THIS!    This is bordering on impossible.
