So how much longer do we need before we can start upgrading our predictions for Watkins future? 16 innings is the smallest of small sample sizes, but he seems to be one of these guys with excellent command-and-control, but not much velocity and a mediocre fastball. But he sure seems to make it work so far.

He throws a high percentage of good strikes And only gave up what, two or three hard hit balls?

Honestly I'd rather see Eshelman stay in the rotation Thursday and Akin go down to pitch every 5th day in Norfolk when Means comes off the IL tomorrow.

Let Akin/Lowther/Kremer spend at least a month pitching regularly in AAA and see if ANY of them can put together any consistency to show they deserve another shot
