Originally, the black jerseys were worn exclusively for Friday night games, with orange jerseys on Saturdays and white jerseys the rest of the time.

I think the white jerseys are still officially the "regular" home uniforms, but it seems to be a day-to-day decision which jerseys the team will wear for any given game.
