those are standard lead ins for most anything Ben says and I love his folksie style.  If only we could pair him with Jon Miller, how great a team they would make.  
 

ps someone needs to start a Ben McDonald story thread.  He had a great one about Albert Belle (will always be “Joey” to Ben) from the days when they were Tigers.  I don’t remember the details now but I do remember hanging on his every word.  

Ben and Palmer both have lots of great stories, i.e., Palmer has mentioned numerous times that he roomed with Robin Roberts when he was 19.

This sucks! Late June is a long time. Who can do color other than Palmer? Palmer ain't doing all these games.

Gregg Olson is doing the two games on MASN in Toronto this weekend.

Palmer rejoins the broadcast in NY on Tuesday.

Don't know if it's all Palmer until Ben comes back or not.

Olson is the absolute worst case possible scenario. He's horrendous.

Does anyone else have problems with the way the mix the audio on MASN? Especially with Palmer... The ambient noise is louder than the announcers by quite a bit. (And Palmer's voice isn't as forceful as it used to be.)

I love watching a game he is doing color on, he loves the game and it comes thru.  I watched him on the national game the other day and thought that is the stage he belongs on.   I have noticed that he is not entirely accurate.  He will smoothly say he got'em with a breaking ball down and away, and what I saw was a 95 mile and hour fastball up and in.
