Rubenstein has done all the right things so far. But, as others have said, this offseason will be a great litmus test for what things may look like.
I don't foresee Elias agreeing to any crazy contracts. Which is why I think Burnes is gone. If he could be had for 3/120, I think that would actually be on the table. But not 6/200. The analytics don't make sense for 6 years.
So with that in mind, I think we'll see a steady increase to payroll, but nothing drastic right away. Hopefully we have 1-2 extensions this offseason. IMO, that would be the greatest suggestion that there is a change in how we function.
If Nootbar is available I would go after him. He’s a lefty but hits lefties almost as well as righties. Pretty good OF defense and his offensive skillset is much needed. He’s like 2022-2023 Rutschman with a few more K’s.
