Frazier has been a real surprise with the bat.   Sure his glove and throwing is pretty average at best but he is getting it done with the power.  He must love crab cakes.

What happens if for some reason a team switches to a lefty early in the game, say the 4th inning? Do we have to pinch hit for O’Hearn that early, only to see them go back to RHP later?

No, and that's where O'Hearn will get a few ABs vs lefties.   With 4 or 5 man benches, you can't make moves like that early.   Earl would have back in the day.... but those days are gone.

But late in the game it's definitely the right move.

And guess what... O'Hearn is on the bench tomorrow and Sunday vs LHPs.   But he's a heck of a dangerous bat off the bench late in the game.

In 83 the Orioles had the "Three dwarves"  Dauer, Cruz and Dempsey.  And they were a clutch group and Dempsey won MVP of the World Series.  Maybe Frazer, O'Hearn and Mateo will be our "Three Dwarves"   I can see all of them helping win a game.  Mateo with his glove and legs.
