My interview with Kevin Brown

I want to be clear ...this an interview from last year with Kevin, and in NO place do I discuss anything to do with Angelos or any controversy....but this interview MAY show Kevin for what he is...an aspiring, talented, hard working, self-effacing and dedicated young broadcaster. I really like Kevin as our PBP guy. Yes, he’s young, he’s excitable, his references may not always hit home with everyone… but I see someone who is improving every year, who seems to love what he’s doing, and who (at age 33) should get even better as years roll on… plus I think he makes a great counterpart to Ben, who has also really come into his own as an excellent analyst / color broadcaster. I am always a little disappointed when someone other than Kevin kicks off a game.

I am a huge KB fan as well. I love him and Ben together they are my favorite pairing.

I think it was very apropos when Kevin said "There's a little bit of a complex; I have to fight to prove that I'm actually older than 15 and that I put in my time and do my work."

Especially considering current circumstances, even though this was recorded a long time ago,

Agreed. And I know previously that some folks here didn’t like that KB could be a bit of a “homer” on air, but recent news could possibly suggest that was… how he was instructed to sound?

What an age we live in?  Never before would a somewhat obscure baseball dude get so much support from people of all types. People don’t like rich millionaires treating others like crap. 

Is this so bad that it makes Angelos have to sell the team?

In the same post you wonder about millionaires treating others like crap and if this is something that’d make Angelos sell.

I meant my post as a positive about “what an age we live in?”.  I’m genuinely shocked that a story like this went viral. I’m very happy it did. To clear up any confusion.

Could someone please fix the name misspelling in this thread title. Seems Kevin has been thru enough without his name being spelled Kelvin.

He is doing tonight's Clemson/Virginia Tech game.  First time I've heard him do basketball.  He is doing a good job, clearly well prepared and knows the important players and story lines.  He keeps up with the action and identifies who is doing what as it happens.  And he is working well with his color person.  

Playing it pretty straight.  No pop culture references or forced attempts at being funny.
