This is another example of Hyde relying on short sample sizes (like he's done with Hicks) and sentimentality over performance and talent.

Lopez has been awful all season. He's not the same guy that he was for the Orioles last season, and his previous clean inning doesn't mean that he's a reliable option in a high leverage situation. 

Glad that Hicks keeps producing in one short sample size after another (3 hits in last 7 ABs SSS).

Has someone already said that Hall “has that closer’s mentality” ? I love hearing about a closer’s mentality from experts who have never closed a big league game.

I really can't recall the last time Hays contributed in a big spot. This offense has been carried by the homegrown talent plus O'Hearn, Santander, and Mullins. If you think the Orioles can easily replace these three guys in the offseason, think again.
