Who would have guessed?   At this point in the season, the Orioles have one of the 4 biggest platoon OPS differentials  in all of MLB, and we are significantly better vs LEFTY pitching.

?!?

100+ OPS points better vs LH than vs RH:

  • Arizona 215
  • Cubs 141
  • Orioles 127
  • Cleveland 104

50-99 OPS points better vs LH than vs RH:

  • Pittsburgh 92
  • Minnesota  85
  • Toronto 67
  • Houston 64

100+ OPS points better vs RH than vs LH

  • Milwaukee 174
  • Yankees 118
  • San Diego 105

50-99 OPS points better vs RH than vs LH:

  • Texas 93
  • White Sox 91
  • St Louis 87
  • Miami 67
  • Dodgers 50

The other 14 MLB teams have less than 50 points OPS difference between hitting righties and lefties.

Would think it may level out some.

Mounty and believe it or not Gunnar too, though the splits are not as extreme with them.  Gunnar is surprising since he bats from the left.

Westburg has reverse splits too, a righty who has hit right handers a bit better, though I think not that much to be of a real significance.
