Suarez could have come back out or maybe choose another reliever besides Akin who has been garbage lately? 🤷‍♂️

Suarez was toast. Akin has to pitch sometime and this was a perfect situation for him, he just sucks as he always does. The choices were Akin, Webb, Tate, and Perez. Not much for Hyde to work with there to cover five innings.

The Yankees feasted off the White Sox pitching!!!

Exactly for everyone who thinks folks are being hyperbolic and want to mute bc of the negativity just compare what NYY did vs this pitching staff and what the Orioles are doing.

Way to respond there in the 6th.

Looks like Adrian Johnson all of a sudden has 2 different strike zones. Akin’s pitch to Benintendi which caught the plate called a ball and a pitch below the zone to O’Hearn called a strike….

We need an easier way to mark users as Ignore in the game threads.

It's pretty easy, just hover over their name and click the ignore button, check all 3 boxes and profit. Then most of the thread will look like this.

Yeah terrible missed call. Otherwise, the inning is over with no runs scored. It was a clear strike.

Fascinating to see how many lurkers post only when they suddenly think we’re going to lose.

Very fascinating!

I would have gone with Vespi who can also cover multiple innings. But yes Akin has to do better. He should have been sent down instead of DFA Baumann

This past inning is why Akin hasn’t entered the circle of trust yet. I wouldn’t feel comfortable bringing him into a high leverage situation in October baseball.

Unless he can tap into a few more ticks of velocity or learn a new breaking pitch or something, he's not entering the circle of trust. The stuff is pedestrian. He's a chunkier TJ McFarland.

You have 5 innings to go. Suarez at 80 pitches after 4 innings not having pitched in awhile.

Akin is matched up well vs LHB. He gets squeezed first hitter and makes horrible pitch to Sheets. He wasn’t facing the Yankees in the 8th inning and the top of order up one here.
