Lenny Dykstra's Company

That is some of the bizarrest :slytf: stuff I've read in a while:

Lenny’s on speaker when he proudly states, for both my wife and me, that “nobody can call me a racist—I put three darkies and a b*tch on my first four covers.”

The first four Players Club covers featured Derek Jeter, Chris Paul, Tiger Woods, and Danica Patrick.

I receive a call from Lenny. Speaking in a voice even more slurred than usual, he says: “Hey, bro, a guy from this jet company is going to call you in a few minutes and ask for your credit card.”

“What the hell for, Lenny?”

“He’s not going to charge your card, bro. It’s just an authorization on it so I can reserve a private jet to get me to Atlanta, where I’m going to pick up half a million dollars in cash.”

“You can trust me with your life, bro,” he replies. And then: “Don’t tell anyone about this, okay?”

That was an interesting yet disturbing story if true. The details sound too believable to me for this to be lies but maybe this guy has a calling in fiction writing, who knows?

The obscene amounts of money he's throwing around for private jets and whatever is hilarious. The manner in which he was stealing from others to fund that lifestyle is the most amazing display of behavior I've ever heard of.

How did he ever make it so big with these type of business practices??

Something else that's a little bizarre is his fetish with Twizzlers. It was mentioned in this article and check out this photo:

"Hey bro, check out my Twizzlers!"

Here is an article about Lenny Dykstra's company which has been profiled on HBO Real Sports.

It's rather long, but entertaining in a train wreck sort of way.

Thanks for the link. Interesting to see the entire aftermath of Dykstra's actions. Goodness, I feel for the editor (at least he got out soon enough); I majored in sports management and worked in the sports industry for 4 years and have heard my share of promises as well. I take everything I hear now with a grain of salt and actually just laugh at half the things people in the sports industry tell me. Everyone is always expecting you to be a yes man but it's important to question, challenge, and not back down against those with power. I'm telling you, unless you're in the highest of management, an athlete or an agent, it could be a very rough time or a very good one depending on who you work for.

I just got a new job in marketing (after being out of work for 6 months) but have been offered a job with another sports company that would start 3 months from now. The job is with one of the good contacts I've made and it sounds pretty legit, but trust me, I've heard it all before.
