Yep he was clearly not physically right his last start.

What is the chance of a partially torn UCL not becoming worse when you return to the activity that caused it to tear?

I think we can expect the Bradish to UCL surgery announcement before July 1

To my knowledge the word tear has never been used in their description of KB’s injury. It’s been described as a UCL injury. That could mean so many things.

Unless you (or anyone else) has seen it reported that he had a partial tear.. if so, please correct me. I personally have not heard/read the word tear with regard to KB’s ailment.

To you maybe, but do you think the Orioles would suddenly change their mind on it?

Hopefully.  Putting even more pressure on the weakest part of the team doesn’t seem to be a sound strategy.

Bradish this month he is right now detached from Burnes-Grayson as the rotation turns.

I have a feeling Bradish won't pitch until Saturday after Irvin's Friday turn.      Then Burnes-Grayson get an extra day, and you have Bradish-Burnes-Grayson connected if you want to maneuver all 3 of them to the Yankee Stadium series (using or not using a 6th starter as needed to manipulate the calendar).

For as long as the race is hot, NYY-BAL regular season games mean a lot - one team will have to survive Seth Lugo and Cole Ragans, or equivalent from one of the AL's playoff teams.

For funsies getting Burnes 2nd between the other two guys would also position him for the middle game @Malike had it that Yankees announcers say is Gerrit Cole's return date.

Maybe the O’s considered it a luxury because they had too many starters performing well. Now with the injuries, the equation changed. Just spitballing, who knows. We’ll find out soon enough.

Yea my first thought on the Bradish stuff was re-arranging the rotation for the Yankees, while also giving him the rest.

I didn’t look to see how it would work out but I’d be shocked if that’s not part of the thinking.

I agree. Hopefully it was only under consideration because Means was healthy and Irvin was dealing. I'm in favor of targeted spot starts like this Thursday. I'm sure they'll give Grayson one or two of those as well.

Well and Kremer was healthy.  Things have changed a lot in the last few weeks.

Povich had pretty decent in May if you take out his last start. Not dominant like April, but still decent with a 3.62 ERA and holding batters to a .257/.317/.459/.775 slash with a 31 to 9 K to BB in 27.1 IP.

As someone stated, he has reverse splits getting righties out to the tune of a  .180/.263/.317/.579 slash line but .250/.307/.427/.733 to lefties.

Toronto is a right-handed heavy lineup so this might be a good matchup for him Thursday.

This move would move Bradish back to Friday against Tampa, giving him an extra day of rest after a tough outing. If i did the games right, this would align him with starting the 1st game in the Yankees series on 6 days rest.

Surely this is a troll post?

Happy for Povich, but very concerned about Bradish. I know they said he "needs a couple extra days". With his recent injury, I hope that isn't code for he's hurt again.

As an O's fan, why can't we have nice things and why do the f'ing Yankees always get nice things?

    • Plenty of teams limp into the playoffs and then make a deep run. This team has enough talent to do it, I just want to see Mayo and Kjerstad finally given a shot to play every day (put Kjerstad in RF, Santander at 1B, Mayo the full time DH), and move away from struggling/low ceiling vets like O'Hearn, Eloy, Rivera, and Slater.  Mayo and Kjerstad playing regularly and Westburg making it back for the playoffs could transform the lineup. I think Hyde is a terrible manager who can't write out a good lineup to save his life, but this offense has been so bad for so long that I think even he's capable of making those changes.  If Webb, Coloumbe, and Grayson can all make it back healthy, they'll also make a difference.
    • Another Hyde thread 🙄
    • How am I scapegoating him? He hasn't played well for a very long time. I'm just saying give Mayo a legit shot.
    • Am looking forward to the season being over.  Yankees are taking full advantage of the O’s ineptitude - as they should.   Team is so inept offensively and does not seem fixable.  Bad combo of too many players still trying to figure things out. Have no idea what to expect over the next 2 weeks,  but currently they are unwatchable and an overall joyless bunch.   Need new dugout leadership that can help this team unlock its potential,  Hyde is no longer the answer and I think he knows it.
    • Mayo actually had a decent at bat in a game where there were so many poor at bats. He fouled off a lot of good pitches , worked a count to 3-2 and was called out on a borderline strike. Yeah, you can say he's lost,, but I think he's finding his confidence up there. He had three pretty good at bats the last time he started and made a very tough play at third base that was almost an out, missed the runner by a whisker. I think the kid deserves to play and even if he fails, he cant be much worse that what we are putting out there. Eloy Jimenez and Emmanuel Rivera are NOT in our future plans and not doing much either...you may as well let the kid play and maybe he'll run into a pitch and drill it somewhere.I think the more at bats you give him, the likelier good things will happen. It sure isnt helping us to see him on the bench with Nick Maton.
    • I expect Kjerstadt to be recalled tomorrow which will help with the depth even if it just to pinch hit.  Tonight we sent Slater up to pinch hit for O’Hearn then they countered with a pitching change but we didn’t have another left handed pinch hitter to counter them.  Hyde did a great job using his depth and pinch hitting early in the year but he had actual hitters on the bench.  He could pinch hit Urias, Kjerstadt, Hayes, O’Hearn, Stowers, Norby in certain situations.  Now his choices are Soto, Maton, McCann, Mayo, Jimenez  or Slater.  Injuries and trades have not only hurt the starting lineup but the depth of the bench.   I am pretty sure if you told Elias that he would lose Westburg, Mountcastle, Mateo, Kjerstadt, and Urias along with Holliday and Mayo completely falling flat he holds on to Hayes, Norby and Stowers.  How bad is our injury luck been this year?  If Westburg gets hit and breaks his hand two days earlier I believe Norby is still on the team but he broke it two days after the deadline.
