They Can't Hit. They Can't Field. They Can't Pitch. What Is Going On?

It's looking more and more like, if they don't get as hot as the Rangers were last October, there's little to no chance this team is winning anything this year.

How could a team that's 65-45 become so unbearable to watch?

Agree. The past 5 weeks or so now this feels like the worst stretch of baseball since the terrible days of 2021

I can't ever remember a team tied for 1st place this late in the season trying to work so many new pieces into the mix. New 2B, new 3B, new bullpen pieces, 2 new SPs. I don't know how this is going to go for the rest of the regular season but the thing we have to remember is it's all back to 0-0 when the playoffs start. Just have this thing together by then and who knows what could happen.

The only saving grace right now and it's probably only temporary is that the Yankees have been almost as bad as we have.

Meanwhile, the AL East is turning into the NL Central.

That can be a little misleading. I get the sense that they'll score a ton for a couple of games and get shutdown for the next two or three and it averages itself out.

I looked it up few weeks ago and they have scored 2 runs or less the fewest number of times of any major league team, I am sure they still lead the league since they only done it one more time since all star break.    They have been pretty consistent in at least getting 3 runs or more, all teams have some high scoring games and some low scoring games.

Gunnar and his error marathon has cost us enormously in the last week.  He also forgot how to it homeruns.  Adley cant throw and cant hit anymore either.  Mullins is a shadow of his best year.   Westburg is hurt.  None of the kids are good on defense.

Its hard to win when you throw the ball around like little league.

This is the stats for 2 runs or less in a game.

Orioles 22

Yankees 25

Red Sox 30

Rays 39

Jays 35

Guardians 29

Royaks 30

Twins 29

Tigers 36

Whit Sox 47

Astros 31

Mariners 38

Rangers 35

Angels 34

A’s 41

Phillies 25

Braves 30

Mets 31

Marlins 40

Nats 39

Brewers 25

Cards 30

Pirates 41

Cubs 36

Reds 40

Dodgers 25

Padres 36

Giants 23

Diamondbacks 28

Rockies 39

So the narrative we score a bunch they not score next few games is just false, we almost always score 3+ runs and lead the league doing so,

They are pushing through a rough patch. This team is good and it will continue to show!

Not really all that surprising considering we've had one of the best offenses for a good chunk of the season. That certainly hasn't been the case for probably over a month now. Enjoy that stat line because if they continue to do what they're doing, it will be a memory.

They did just win 4 out of 5. Cleveland just a match up nightmare for us

They won 3 of 4 against a Toronto team deeply unmanned, with poor pitching and a lineup that had barely any blue chip hitters(besides Vlad Jr) anyone who thinks THAT Toronto series was representative of a good challenge to the Orioles is dreaming. Against a good team these days we flounder. We better wake up in the Cleveland series. On paper we have more talent 1-9. But the Orioles are not a fundamentally sound team and plays shoddy defense and has few quality pitchers..thats why we seem lost. Because we are.

I think it is psychologically deflating to the entire team when the pitching is just getting shelled, and you know you don’t have any better options to bring in.  That affects team psyche as a whole.

That's the deal.
