Hyde just named Cole Irvin to start.  Orioles will have to make a 40 man roster move.

That was really a given once he was scratched from Norfolk tonight.  Hopefully can give us 4 innings or so tomorrow then try to piece it together with Tate,  Selby and Soto.

Kimbrel is on a roll. 😉

Big Cole Irvin fan here.  I'm going to take the position that he was unjustly targeted for demotion and this is his opportunity for redemption.  Narrative is everything when every MLB team thinks they can lose their way into the post season - with good reason.

He’s not as bad as he was pitching before his DFA. He’s also not as good as he was at the beginning of the year. But he is capable of going on a roll. Something Trevor Rogers hasn’t done in years. We could really use a boost.

Irvin had an ERA of 7.16 in June and July.  There was nothing unjust about his demotion.

Then it's an automatic loss, sorry. Hyde must be trying to get out of town early tomorrow.

Nick Avila has allowed 10 earned runs in an inning and a third in Norfolk, I'm thinking his spot on the 40 man is toast.

Maybe we can trade him to Braves and take a flyer on this young arm from the DSL.

He is striking out 2 per inning over since pitching in pro ball and given up just 2 hits.  He can be bit wild though in his 3 innings so far he has walked 28 guys hit 4 batters and thrown 35 wild pitches and given up 20 runs.  So he might need some adjustments.
