My worry is he’s not an elite guy and you are paying him to be one. I was never really for his signing.
A lot of money tied up in a MiLB, poor safety(wasn’t when signed) and a good but not great DT. That’s part of the defensive issue this year imo.
Yep, and Bancells was the trainer for 20 years, and Ralph Salvon was the trainer for 20+ years before him. And Eddie Weidner was the trainer dating back to 1922 for the AAA Orioles and continuing as trainer of the major league team until Salvon took over in 1968.
So the Orioles have only had 4 head trainers for the last 102 years.
The Yankees haven’t been in the World Series since 2009. And the Dodgers got the best player in baseball for pennies because they’re smarter not richer. So think a little bit before you cry, a river of tears
He's playing a little worse overall but he doesn't look bad to me. My biggest gripe with him is that he's good for 1 random ass PF every other game. Some of them are BS but a lot of them are both legitimate and avoidable. The stupid tomahawk chop on Mayfield's helmet was totally avoidable.
I think it was pretty clear he was a sack vulture last year, so I think we'd be nuts to expect another double digit sack year. He's been getting a little less pressure this year (win rate down from 14% to 11.2%) but it could just be in-season variance too.
