Yeh, I don't really understand it either. I think this was his plan when the game was close and he just stuck to it. I would have done it differently for sure. I'm guessing he REALLY wants to get this losing streak over and get BB his first win, but this is a bit of overkill IMO.

Well, we need the win, and possibly a couple of these relievers need the work. No guarantee we'll need Ray or Johnson tomorrow, and it's not like they've thrown so many pitches that they won't be available.

Absolutely nasty. 3rd in line currently, but the best closer on the team.

JJ has nasty stuff. That last 2 seemer he just threw to Dye froze the ump as well as Dye.

If he can actually throw that change that well with regularity, it is almost a shame to have him as a reliever. It is a bit of a waste. He is featuring three nasty pitches tonight. That is the best I've seen him throw since early last year and I've never seen a better change up from JJ than he just threw Thome on 3-2.

I've been a proponent of JJ as a starter for awhile, to the chagrin of many around here.

That changeup makes him an entirely different pitcher.

A 95mph 2-seamer followed by a 79mph circle change = not fair.

He's pretty okay.

Stupid Orioles, taking this beast lefthanded pitcher and turning him into an outfielder.

I think the closer role should be his. I'd much rather see a 3K 9th than 2 runs, bases loaded, and a warning fly try to close it up.
