  1. All this winning is sure getting boring. Feels like @Sports Guy is posting a lot less.
  2. The nice part about this winning streak is I think it increases the price we would require to move our guys. If we were 10 games under, we might take a bag of balls for a couple months of Mancini. But given our current state, someone gonna have to give up some goods for us to make moves. We're not going to just give away our guys that have gotten us here.

    Coby Mayo 2022

    Not in the lineup tonight
  4. Fair enough about the contact....I though we held an option for next year.
  5. My preferences for trading: 1. Santander 2. Tate (anyone from the bullpen other than Lopez, who I really believe in now). 3. Odor 4. Mancini (only if blown away)
  6. Looks like Cowser out of the lineup tonight, and Mayo came out after the 4th inning. Cowser probably just a night off but not sure why Mayo came out in the middle of the game?
  7. So next year around this time, we may very well be around .500 and in the wildcard discussions. I assume these are the kind of guys we will be looking to trade for. I wouldn't be so fast in getting rid of them. I'd be OK with Santander as we have depth in the OF, but not so fast to trade anyone else.
  8. I know we have a good system, but these promotions are starting to expose some gaps int he lower levels. It's getting pretty bare at A and A+.
  9. I think a better way to think about this is that at this stage it is unlikely we would get an offer that would benefit us enough to make up for the cost of losing him. His value to us is more than it is likely to be to anyone else.
  10. He's not even close to ready. Needs to improve that command.
  11. Like to see Heston move up to Aberdeen on Monday.
  12. I seriously doubt we get an offer of any value for him, and there is no reason to just give him away. He's doing exactly what they brought him here to do.
  13. Trading Stowers or from our MiLB stash would imply buying. I still think we are more likely to be sellers, which would imply trading from our MLB roster and likely Mullins or Santander. Of course there are exceptions to the above, but generally speaking...
  14. The best part is actually looking forward to watching them on TV and seeing competivtive games, win or lose.
  15. The Orioles have not had a winning month (when playing more than 3 games) since August 2017. This could be the month we break that streak!
  16. Agree - had never even heard of Jacob Berry before reading this article. The way this makes him sound he should still be available for our 2nd pick.
  17. From the latest mock in the Athletic this week: 1. Baltimore Orioles: Jacob Berry, 3B/OF, LSU The current betting has the Orioles taking a college position player and cutting a deal with him, as they did when picking second (2020) and fifth (2021) in the last two drafts, in part because they don’t believe that Druw Jones is head-and-shoulders above the remainder of the draft class. I will point out, however, that GM Mike Elias had the first overall pick in 2019 and took the best available player, Adley Rutschman; he had it three times while with Houston, and took the best available player twice (neither of which worked out). The other time was the most analogous to this year: the Astros thought four players were all roughly equal in value, or close enough to treat them as such and try to strike the best deal among them. They ended up with Carlos Correa, who was, in fact, the best player in the draft. That said, I think Berry is a future DH and wouldn’t take him anywhere near this high. The Orioles could also go with Brooks Lee, the Cal Poly shortstop who’ll at least stay on the dirt and can really hit. Scouting report: “On bat alone, Berry would be a top-10 pick, as the transfer from the University of Arizona has mashed for two years, and drastically cut his strikeout rate even with the move to LSU and a less favorable home park … He has plus power and good pitch recognition, showing no trouble the few times he’s seen good velocity this year. He has no position, though – he’s been well below average at third and in left field.”
  18. Wells has to be one of the most encouraging stories in 2022 chapter of the rebuild. Not sure if he's a 1 or 2 on a division championship team, but he's most definitely looking like a solid rotation piece.
  19. Hall needs to get more efficient before they bring him up. He can't get through 5 innings - perhaps because he tries to strike everyone out. I expect Baumann is only up in a relief role and we have 10 days or so to figure out who's next.
  20. Guy has been a stud on defense this year though. That play he made yesterday was incredible.
  21. Who is the next player to start 100+ games at second base for the O's?
  22. Be interesting to see how fast he can progress. He'll be 24 when the season starts next year. Hope he can start in the upper levels of the system, with some taste of the MLB end of the season. Make him a good candidate to make the 2024 OD roster when he will be 25. That type of schedule will require some immediate success at each stop.
  23. One thing I think shoulD be a no brainer would be to remove the umpire tunnel behind home plate. That space could be the best seats in the house!
