Hammel was throwing some gas today, but had trouble keeping the ball low and locating the fastball in general. Appeared like he was throwing a 4-seamer today, instead of a 2-seam sinker.

I liked what I saw considering it was his first time out. His command wasn't that great but his pitches had good movement. I think he'll be tough as the year goes along.

Just the first car in a long train of above-average starting pitching efforts we're going to see -- move along, chug chug chug, pick up a quality start and a win.

With the exception of Cano that is basially a lineup of castoffs/has beens.

And then you look at Cano. Imagine how good he could be if he had his head in the game consistently and the intensity and drive to be his best all the time.

Glad to see Hammel has his good slider back. Much more depth on it today than his first two starts. Obviously resulting in better performance.

Looked good today. Would have been interesting to see how his line would have changed without that Hardy error and extra 10 pitches in the 2nd.

I like Hammel. Still not overly impressed to date. He will get better. Not sure if BS strategy of throwing to AA and A teams was a great ideea. The O's got the W that's the bottom line.

I'm amazed at his ability in the AL East. Never thought he could be this good and he and us still expect much better. He may be a tough call to extend, with only Gausman and Bundy and Hammel's hefty price standing in the way. I think he's our best starter right now.
