It was just one of those frustrating nights where every time the opponent made contact, it happened to go juuuuust to outside the reach of where a defender could make a play on it, and anytime we made contact, it happened to go straight to a defender. Nothing you can do about those games, but we seem to have them against Texas a lot more than any other team for some reason.

Really good stuff tonight. Best I've seen his CU. Split fingered action that tailed down and away from LH as we saw with Swisher tonight and good command of the FB except for the beginning of the 6th. He used the CB ahead in the count to RH with success. Worked ahead in the count for the first half of the game which allows him to throw the FB up in the zone. Very good demeanor on the mound, he always seems composed.

Not a great outing by Gonzo, but certainly gutsy. Make some great pitches when he had to. Got squeezed on a couple of pitches, but did not have his fastball control. I'll take 6IP and 2ER. We needed it.

Probably the gamerest outing I've seen from him. I think he's losing steam, but he sure doesn't seem to care. Just gets it done.
