Don't know, I don't think you could classify the last two nights as no run support. Pitching was the problem.

Wondering--If Manny had fielded a ball while he was shifted into RF against Pierzynski, how would it be scored? He can't still be considered the third baseman, can he?

Fangraphs dealt with this early last year and changed their formulas. In the first month, Brett Lawrie was putting up the greatest defensive month any player had ever had in any season... and by a wide margin. Fangraphs looked into why and found that Lawrie was playing RF on defensive shifts and the zone portions of the formulas were way out of proportion. Since then, Fangraphs made some formula changes that seem to correct the issue.

It would be scored as the third baseman making the put out, but the advanced defensive metrics pretty much ignore the extreme shifts now.

Yes, that's it. Only swing at pitches you can get hits off of. It's easy, why hasn't anybody else thought of it?

Nobody on the os had seen him before. I see big things for the 2nd and 3rd turn through the order. Nolan may even be productive here.

Is it me or is that Head and Shoulders ad on every freaking break? Its NEVER been a good spot and both players are particularly leaden as actors.
