Looks like the Rays are determined not to go away. If they beat Boston today they'll have a ten game winning streak.

If this surge from them had to happen, though, I love the timing of it. Now they'll hold on to Price for the rest of the year thinking they can make a run. They'll get an order of magnitude less for him in the off season than they would right now. :boogie:

If the rumored offer from STL of Taveras and Miller is true, that seems like it would be hard to turn down. Is Miller hurt though?

Although they have been hot as of late (13-5 over their last 18 games), the Rays head into the All-Star break at 44-53, 9 and-a-half games behind the Orioles in the A.L. East.

The Rays continued to be white-hot for almost 2 additional weeks, but have dropped back again in the last few games.

It's looking more and more like they are a solid team, but they just dug themselves too big of a hole early in the season.

Aside from Desmond Jennings, who was shut down for the season 2 and-a-half weeks ago with a bruised left knee, all of the Rays' starters from Opening Day are still on the team, and still playing regularly.

I don't know if that is unusual in today's game, but it's something that I noticed, particularly in light of the Orioles' injuries and suspensions of multiple position players this season.
