It's not the Ravens. It's the NFL in general. They have some bad actors. The Ravens?

Well, if they make the playoffs this season, the Ravens will be relevant. What can I say, I'm an Orioles fan first last and always.

Yep, for as long as I can remember it's been the Orioles first, last, and always.

I don't mind the song but it has been way overplayed. There are much more annoying things at a Ravens game than that song. For instance, each time they get a first down they play that annoying chain links moving sound. That and hearing grown men, when Flacco first became the starter, saying they're "Wacko for Flacco."

Granted, as a Steeler fan my viewpoint is skewed. I had no issues with Ravens fans other than the usual heckling you get as a fan of their opponent. However, the best fans in the NFL title went out the window for me when I witnessed a lady Ravens fan reach down from her luxury box to grab the hair of a woman and try to drag her up into her up a 5 ft concrete wall.

It works as a sports chant. The only reason I don't like it is because it reminds me of how little I like Jack White/The White Stripes music. Yes, it would be preferable to have a unique, fan created song, but I feel like in this day and age it's almost impossible for that to catch on to the point where a large majority of the stadium is participating. Damned 21st century, globalization, technologization, etc. :D

Fair enough, and I think that's why it will never catch on fully. Because a lot of people don't really like it, so the chants now have a hard time sustaining. A chant only works if everyone is going balls to the wall. I wish it would catch on because I think it could be just ours, but I know it won't.

You're probably right. I'm not a fan of the chant, but I don't begrudge anyone who wants to participate in it. Sports are supposed to be fun. Enjoy yourself!

Steeler fans are the most arrogant, obnoxious fans I have ever run into. For years they invaded Ravens stadium and acted like it was theirs. Now that they suck, not so much, good riddance. If you don't like the way you are treated in Baltimore, stay home

Gotta call minor BS on this one. Steeler fans did not invade Baltimore for years. They had a presence at memorial for the first two years and maybe the first few years at M&T. They haven't had a noticeable presence (more than 5-10% of the stadium) in about 12 years.

Also, Steeler fans in Pittsburgh are actually really friendly. Very easy stadium to watch the Ravens in. Much tougher for Steeler fans in Baltimore, unfortunately.

It's not something people realize, but ravens fans travel as well or better than steeler fans at this point.

I feel like it fits, i could be completely wrong but dosnt the "O" hymn work more for us over the Ravens/Terps considering we're actually The O's??

This is how I feel about it. However, I would agree that it's overdone and generic if it weren't simply chants of "O" over and over.

I don't mind it since it reminds me of 2012. Regarding fair weather fans, who cares? Should I get a cookie for being a fan since '04 when I moved to the city? I mean, hell, a great deal of OHers became fans during their childhood when they were good, I became a fan when they really sucked.

Small children at games??? You forgot to finish your post with "Get off my lawn".

Ive hated it for years now. I recall it being a ravens thing and then it spread through the nfl and then suddenly you heard it at every american sporting event. I evwn heard it during team USAs game st the world cup

It was done in other places well before it was a Ravens thing. It was a soccer thing and a Penn State thing before it made it to M&T.

And for the record, I am pretty indifferent to it. I don't particularly like it, and I am not going to participate, but I don't really care about it.

Today, my 13 game plan is in section 36, row 22. Ie, 22 rows up, directly behind home plate.

I'm exactly one section over in 34. Row 22, seats 1 & 2. FANTASTIC seats! Hoping to get even closer next year. Might go a section or two towards O's dugout to get out from behind the screen. Sat in section 28 for a Nats game last month, and I think we liked them better. Better view of the plate.

    • Could it be that they allowed the Gnats to reside within 30 minutes of their home. Effectively cutting their market in half?
    • Got my all-time low rarity score on today's game - 6.
    • 41 freaking years and here's this guy with the name pickles telling me I should be happy with 91 wins and getting owned in the playoffs again. 😂 😂 I saw a team that looked terrible the second half and probably didn't even deserve that spot the way they were playing .
    • Lol. Here's the funny they know more then you know. Typical Oriole fan who's happy with getting punched in the mouth.
    • I don’t like the wall. I think it’s affecting our hitters. I’ve mentioned before that I think it has totally warped Mountcastle into something he was never really meant to be. The guy came up as a pull-heavy HR hitter, and in his first season-plus (725 PAs), he puts up 38 HRs and a 116 wRC+. Since then, the wRC+ is down to 110, and his approach has totally changed, with his pull numbers plummeting (down from 39% in 2021 to less than 28% this year). He still hits the ball hard, but constantly underachieves his batted ball data — probably because he’s trying to avoid the pull field and hitting balls to the deepest parts of pretty much every other park. Will the same thing happen to Mayo? Maybe he has more pure power, but it’s always going to be a challenge for a RH slugger to survive with that wall. So much harder to do damage.   Beyond that, I think it’s also creating a serious risk of changing our LH hitters’ approaches too. These guys (Henderson, Holliday, Cowser, 2/3 of Adley) have come up with a reputation for being able to drive the ball to all fields. But how long does that continue when they just can’t hit it out to the opposite field? Our LH hitters had a combined 44 wRC+ at OPACY, and only one HR. They had the 3rd most balls hit to LF at home by LHHs, but the lowest wRC+ of any team on those balls (for the second straight year). The Royals, ironically enough, were the only team that was lower than a 70 wRC+ — that’s how much worse our lefties fared going oppo (at OPACY) than everyone else’s. By player: Gunnar Henderson: 112 wRC+ / .160 ISO (51 PAs) Adley Rutschman: 10 wRC+ / .026 ISO (38 PAs) Anthony Santander: 14 wRC+ / .095 ISO (43 PAs) Colton Cowser: 58 wRC+ / .057 ISO (36 PAs) Ryan O’Hearn: 47 wRC+ / .091 ISO (55 PAs) Cedric Mullins: 23 wRC+ / .100 ISO (41 PAs) Jackson Holliday: -72 wRC+ / .000 ISO (16 PAs)   On the road, they had a combined 126 wRC+ (with 9 HRs) going to left field, so it’s not like they’re bad at it. It’s just Death Valley out there in LF for them at OPACY.  How long will it be until these LH guys just start going full pull-happy? Essentially, the opposite of what’s happened with Mountcastle. When (a) your team’s philosophy is to focus on doing damage and (b) you can’t DO damage to the opposite field — the rational endpoint is just to try to pull everything. I don’t think that’s a good outcome. I think it makes them much worse hitters in the other 81 games, and I think it’s a terrible waste of a bunch of really talented hitters with all-field abilities.
    • Which core players beside Adley Rutschman struggled?
