This is the first Terps game I've gotten to see all year. And damn, great game to see.

Vasquez is a good player, but it'll be interesting to see how he develops. He's a little bit slower than Blake or Gilchrist were. I love his fire though.

Osby is a defensive monster. I wish someone would soften his stone hands though.

Ok, now that this silly Duke-Maryland business is over, can we talk about the real game of the week?

Senior Night for JR Reynolds, tomorrow night. Huuuuuuge game against the Hokies.

I'm sure that's what you guys want to talk about right?;)

Hey you chumps whooped us twice so you get to talk all the s*** you want.

LOL. Just messing with you, Terpies. Great win for you guys tonight. You keep making us look better for beating you guys twice:D

As much as I love ya, you caught us at the wrong time...play us now I'd say a double digit win would be in order :D

As for tonight, Vasquez was amazing, just amazing. He is going to be the real deal for the next 3 years. Ibekwe was huge, as was Osby down low at times.

Gist was his normal consistant good self...which has become a great asset, consistency is something we havent had

Jones was unreal shooting the rock tonight, just unreal. He was the key to the offense. I am just so proud of the terps knocking off the media loved and obviously overrated dookies.

Maryland is obviously the superior team this year. I am so excited to be watching them play right now and can't wait to see how things go in the ACC tourney and beyond.

What a great win tonight. They are playing with so much confidence it isn't even funny.

I know Vasquez isn't the pure scorer Juan was, but man does he remind me of Juan a ton. Very cool under pressure, performs even better when the game is on the line.

Have to love the way everyone played tonight. Blocked shots, transition buckets off of rebounds, running the flex offense.

I agree about the in game coaching thing beaner. At least for this game. As soon as 15 scored a few buckets, Gary stopped that and put DJ on him and he was invisible the rest of the game.

What a terrific win.

Yea, I know, but this is a totally different monster you guys have rolling right now. I'm really devising ways to make sure we don't have to play you guys in the ACC Tourney

Great effort by Maryland tonight. This team is really, really playing well even without a superstar which in my mind gives them more balance. Hayes did not play well again, but Vasquez was unbelievable. Bring on the TOURNEY!!!!

Hayes didn't have a bad game, he just didn't need to do anything offensively tonight. 0-2 from the floor, 2 assists, 1 TO, and he played good defense. He was only in for 12 minutes.

The coaching thing isn't even close..Williams outcoaches him almost every time they play whether Maryland wins or not. Again, congrats to the Terps and their fans..Now we'll do our Job in Chapel Hill Sunday and make Duke 0-4 against Carolina and Maryland.

I guess SG can admit that the Duke team is not more talented than some of the recent Duke team. One thing in Dukes favor is McRoberts has played himself into another year at Duke. Dukes Guards are simply not as good has usual and they have a very limited inside game.

But on to the Terps I think they actually may make a deep run, of course it depends on matchups some. But this team has good balance and is capitilizing on the mix of players they have.

Here's something that confuses me.

Entering this game, Maryland and Duke had identical ACC and overall records. Maryland had an RPI of 14, Duke 9, and Maryland's SOS was only several places behind (at number 10). Sooo, how was Duke ranked 14 and MD unranked, not to mention the head-to-head victory. If we are any lower than 20 next week, I will be surprised.

B/c the rankings are stupid and don't mean anything. Those guys dont look at stuff like RPI and SOS. The rankings are so dumb, which is why college hoops is so much better than college football. In hoops, they don't matter, in football, tehy mean everything.

    • the question isn’t about being able to make the offers, it’s about being awarded compensatory picks for more than one.
    • I don’t consider a 4 o’clock game a night game. He also caught Wednesday night and Thursday day this week. Moral of the story is McCann will start 4 games in 7 days because he is Burnes preferred catcher.
    • It is absolutely possible. In 2022, the Mets gave a QO to Bassitt, Nikki, and DeGrom. The Red Sox gave a QO to Boegarts and Eovaldi. The Yankees gave a QO to Judge and Rizzo. The Dodgers gave a QO to Turner and Anderson. I know that it seems to be a foregone conclusion that Santander will not be on the team after this season, and while I generally agree that it is more probable than not that he will not be re-signed, I do think there is a non-zero chance that he will be retained. I think he is the most likely of Mullins, Hays, and himself to be retained, even if it is a small chance. The team has told us how they feel about his bat because he plays essentially everyday, and I have heard Kostka say that they value his clubhouse presence.
    • Santander won’t get a QO, and if he did, he would accept. His defense is declining and we have too many capable youngsters who should replace him effectively. But to your question, I don’t know if there’s a limit, but I doubt it.
    • O's will probably have to wait till July for a trade because there are so many more buyers than sellers.  I think teams like the Blue Jays, Rays Tigers and Mets are likely to be sellers but they are still in the race although not very good teams as constituted.
    • No Scott. He’s way too undependable. We need someone who WON’T enter a game and walk folks like he’s promoting a healthy lifestyle. He’s been a lot bette4 this season, but he’s too undependable, and we already have too many of those. No Flaherty either. That’s like taking your GF back after she cheated on you.
    • The team's continued success has really put Elias on the spot IMO and I don't see a Flaherty type as an option anymore.  My money is on a sensible trade that comes at a price high enough that most of us here, including myself, won't like, but a premium comes with having bad luck and that's where the O's are at the moment.
