You don't understand why we should take the quality of a player's production into account?

Of course we should. This teams weakness on offense is OBP. If the Orioles want to spend gobs of money for players who get on base and also play great defense that's fine. If we are going to improve in that area with a mid market payroll we aren't going to be able to add all stars all over. The offense isn't well rounded at all.

Now if you think Markakis or another player will continue to decline and not get on base that's fine.

Would Nick consider coming back here?

He was pretty bummed about not being wanted here.

Does he have no trade protection?

If he doesn't then who cares what he wants.

I was commenting on how Nick's defense does hurt the team he is playing for.

He doesn't get to balls that faster outfielders get to. That hurts his team.

I get that. With our payroll we are going to have to add some flawed players. Whether it is Nick or someone else this offense needs to get on base more. I am all for well rounded players.
