You'd want to watch a healthy Castillo before making that decision, I'd think. Maybe he doesn't pan out, but he's a potential all-starlocked-in at $11 MM per year through 2019. If Boston wants Davis I'd think they are trading one of those three OF -- probably JBJ. Personally, I don't think Davis is worth it for the Red Sox, but what do I know?

Right; I just don't think it's necessarily a need for that money. And I'm not sure I'd bet on him producing at 1b/DH level deep into the contract he'll get.
