For the O?s to contend, they will need the development of some of their young stars to accelerate. Gausman reaching his potential and becoming the true leader of their pitching staff would give the O?s a fighting chance in the competitive AL East. Look for him to hold up his end of the bargain.

Interesting analysis, though at the end of the day forecasting pitching breakouts is really tough to do. Crossing my fingers that getting the ball every fifth day for an entire season will help Gausman to break through.

Less than 2.5 starters per team qualify for the ERA title. The health of the starters has been quite good over the past two years.
