Cooney is huge...listed at 6'6" 240. Who knows, maybe between he and the 6'7" 1B from Richmond they are trying to put togoether an All-Bodyguard team?

Well he's been under watch for some time now, drafted by the Cardinals last year at round 20 and two times before that by the White Sox. Definately a power pitcher destined for a bullpen role, if any.

I like the looks of that pick, good speed, power and discipline. The errors are a little concern but he could move to another position, maybe the OF.

I thought 5th yr college seniors could sign before the draft as free agents. Why waste a pick like this? They should have signed him prior to the draft if they had been following him at all.
