Of course, if they open the season with 4 starters they might go with 8 relievers and extend the competition.

They could go with eight relievers.  Though I'd put my money on an extra position player because we have the days off in April and will be fine with seven bullpen guys.  We can take advantage of the extra position to make sure we have platoon partners and defensive replacements.

I have included Verrett's statistics in his 2-inning stint in the game against the Dominican Republic ....... a game that Major League Baseball and the Orioles do not include in its/their overall Spring Training statistics.

Verrett struck out the side in the 5th, and got all 3 outs via the ground ball in the 6th.

Overall, he has 9 Strikeouts and 4 Walks over 11.67 Innings Pitched for 2017 Spring Training.

I think Drake being out of options is a problem that will work against him making the team.   Buck will want optionable players in the 7th relief spot so he can shuttle them back and forth to Norfolk.
