Rickard Likely Activated This Week; Who Goes?

Im curious how they plan to activate Santander from the DL.

Buck said in their presser that he got hit on a check swing or something like that. Said he will probably just stay in Delmarva tomorrow because all the rain. 

Hopefully his hurt hand/finger didn't get hit. 

I think it's too early to DFA Gentry. Looks like Rickard is headed to AAA, unless we do some maneuvering with the 5th SP spot.

A. One outfielder gets hurt and we go with an 11 man pitching staff.  

B. Two outfielders get hurt. 

C. One outfielder gets hurt and Gendry gets DFA'd.  

It's going to be a challenge.  We may have to give him back.

I don't see why Joey needs to be activated on Wed.   After tonight's game I would like to see him go to Norfolk for more rehab. 

Then if Smith hamstring is playable, I think Crichton is optioned and Joey is brought up.

If they send down a player that has actually been contributing and they keep Jimenez on this team, they are nuts. To me it's easy, DFA Jimenez, Bye Bye Ubaldo. That's what I would do.

We can't find time for Mancini to play everyday. People want Rickard back.  I'll probably end up regretting this soon but I'd just roll with Gentry. Let Rickard get everyday AB's in AAA. 

Gentry is bettter at the bench role. He can sit for a week and he doesn't care. He's a better defender and base stealer. 

We aren't facing another lefty until Saturday against the Yankees. J. Montgomery.

Let's just DFA Ubaldo, call up Rickard and have Chris Davis pitch and hit on his pitching days... can't be worse than Ubaldo?

Rickard will get the platoon against lefties role. Gentry is not hitting. He is no faster than Rickard, or a better fielder. But if Rickard gets hurt again he will be considered injury prone.

He's outperforming Hardy and Trumbo.

Gentry strikes out more than Trumbo and Davis per at bat. And he's batting .160. Buck is not impressed.

Gentry is a better defensive player and a better base stealer than Joey. Hitting?  Too soon to tell.
