Well, things have developed quite well for us, if we do indeed intend to trade him. There are a lot of teams that need relief help and the options are dwindling. The injury issues are a question mark, but he has looked much better in his last handful of outings.

I love this day too, but I can't imagine the thoughts that run through the heads of the players that are involved in the rumors and their range of emotions. I guess that's just part of the business though.

I guess it's hard for them.

Surprised that nothing seems to be swirling in the rumor mill regarding Brad Brach.

I would be gravely disappointed if we did not move Brach this deadline.  His value will never be higher where as the same cannot be said for Britton.

I feel like he'll be moved once the higher end relievers like Britton and Hand are off the market

Yeah but time is ticking on that market.  Reed is a decent comp for Brach.  Late inning guy that moved into the closer role due to injury.  Though Reed is a rental guy and Brach has another year.

By keeping Britton we make Brach much more valuable to us. So there is that. Brach can go back to throwing 79IP a year for us rather than than the 40ish he's pitched so far for being the "closer".

From a WAR standpoint, a healthy Britton and Brach back to 79IP, is probably worth 3-4 WAR in 2018.

We need Gray and Darvish to be moved to get things going, I believe a lot of teams are holding onto prospects we are discussing as well because they're still out there. This thing may get pretty nuts come 3:00 for the final hour or a whole lot of nothing will happen.

Here is the package I'd want from the Indians.

Tristan Mackenzie - he'd immediately be our best pitching prospect.

Yandy Diaz - Immediate replacement for Hardy (with Manny moving to SS)

Shane Bieber - polished arm, with good curveball and amazing control, he's moving fast and could be ready next year.

Logan Ice - solid catcher prospect  with a good approach at the plate who has surprised by showing  more power this year

    • The outfield might be slick from all the rain. I think that can influence lineup decisions.
    • @Bahama O's Fanor a free trial of any streaming platform. YouTube TV, Directtv, etc.
    • I’ve been rending my garments over Adley and his struggles for months now. But I will say that it seems like a bit of an odd time to come together as a group on the notion of benching him — just as he’s been starting to show some signs of being Adley again.  Over the last week of the season, Adley had a 50% hard hit rate and an average EV of 89.9 MPH. Those numbers absolutely dwarf what he was doing for months, when he was sitting at more like a 26% HH rate and an 85 MPH EV. Anecdotally, I can’t even remember the last time we saw Adley drive a ball into the left-center gap like he did multiple times against MIN. That’s Adley at his very best, and it was a sight for sore eyes.  I’m not sold that he’s 100% back, and I would still stick with McCann catching Burnes tomorrow (especially since using Adley as the DH is viable with a LHP starter in Ragans). But I sincerely doubt we can run the table without at least a few stretches of Adley being Adley — so I think this recent spurt is probably enough to warrant sending him out there every day still, in hopes that he really is getting it locked back in.
    • Apparently, if you just waited to buy tickets, you could just basically go for free. Well done orioles.
    • Well, they likely would not have drafted an overslot SS with the second round pick if they had taken another HS SS first overall, so would you rather have Henderson and Rutschman or just Witt?
    • It’s my understanding that nationally televised games are usually blacked out. Consider a free trial subscription of Fubo if they are still offering it.
    • The Orioles starters absolutely have to do better against the Royals. You can't ask this bullpen to pitch most of the game and expect to win. Right now I probably trust Coulombe the most and Soto (which I never would have guessed a couple weeks back). Perez has been really shaky recently to the point I'm wondering is he nursing a tired arm or minor injuey. Cano hasn't been good as well and O's really need him to get back into a groove. And Akin is usually trustworthy, but only starting the inning clean.
