Davis ??? Buck was so close to having the lineup right. Our RH-lineup is actually pretty good. It should be.

Davis went from leading off in the first 5 games of the season to batting 5th last night, to batting 6th tonight ........ plus Showalter gave Davis a game off against the Astros on Wednesday afternoon.

That's quite a rapid evolution in the handling of Davis in a matter of only 8 games.

Love it! Finally starting to ease Davis into a more platoon role. It gives me hope that the team has finally come around to the idea that both Davis and Trumbo need to see more days off with the same handed pithers. Davis vs. Lefties and Trumbo vs. RHers.

And that's 2 times in the first 10 games of the season in which he has given Davis the day off, in addition to dropping him from the lead-off position to 6th/5th in the lineup.

I'd say that Buck has gotten a lot right in terms of the lineup in a short period of time, including his handling of Davis.

I agree, but Davis should never play against a LH SP when there are other options.

I really like this lineup today. Good OF defense. Wright has no excuses today. We need 5+ strong.

Everybody on the board knows that there are reasons why Showalter cannot simply bench Davis indefinitely against left-handed pitching this early in the season. It's not like Davis is in the last year of his contract, and he has Trey Mancini's clone sitting on the bench (in addition to the Mancini that we already have, who starts in the outfield and occasionally plays 1st base.) Perhaps if Davis' OBP is well under .300 a month-and-a-half into the season, he can bench him even more often than he already has. The combination of giving him 2 games off (out of 10) along with dropping him 5 spaces in the batting order is the most that can do (and probably should be done) only 10 games into. He is playing the hand that he has, whether it be the handling of Davis or the handling of the bullpen (particularly after getting only 2 good starts and 2 fairly decent starts in the first 9 games of the season so far. If Showalter had the Yankees' lineup, he would "get that right" plenty, with Didi Gregorius, Aaron Judge, and Giancarlo Stanton in the heart of it every game.

The Yankees lineup isn’t all that. Neil “street clothes” Walker is their cleanup guy. He just found a job three weeks ago.

Buck needs to just trot this lineup out vs LHP.

And I just explained to you why he can't do that indefinitely this early in the season (10 games.)

Ignore my last comment about the Yankees' line-up if you'd like, and simply accept the points which I have made, which you seem intent on being obstinate of.
