And it was a mini-series (2 games.)

We had to wait unto June 6th to experience it.

ALSO: ) The series win at Citi Field was just the second in Club History (1954 - Present) when scoring 3 runs or fewer.

The Orioles also swept a 2-game series from the Yankees on September 9th and 10th of 1970, winning by scores of 1-0 and 2-1, respectively.

Both Orioles starting pitchers (Mike Cuellar and Dave McNally) went the distance in those games, and it was the 22nd Win of the season for each of them.

The 1970 Orioles finished the season 108-54, and went on to win the World Series.

The 1970 Yankees finished the season at 93-59.

(June 24th)

The Orioles tried for a rare sweep today, but fell short.

They DID get a rare series win, however.

In regard to another downtrodden team ........ the Reds were losing their game to the Cubs by a score of 6-1, heading into the 7th inning.

The Reds scored 7 runs in the bottom of the 7th to take an 8-6 lead.

That's the way the game ended.

What's more, that was a 4-game sweep of the Cubs for the Reds, it was their 2nd consecutive series sweep (they swept the Tigers in a 2-game series prior to this one), and their 7th consecutive win overall.

The downtrodden Reds aren't so downtrodden, as of late.

(ALMOST 3 MONTHS LATER)

Now, they FINALLY have their first 3-game sweep of the 2018 season.

That is impressive.  I miss all 3 games. Looked like they were hitting well.  I hope they beat the Royals badly.  I know everyone wants the #1 pick but I would rather see our players playing well.
