No player or even person tries to step on a guy’s ankle to hurt the other person.  There is much greater chance that Manny roles his ankle or breaks it stepping on Pearce’s foot then hurting Pearce.  You ever watch basketball one guy’s foot planted on ground other guys running or striding or landing on other guy who gets hurt every time not the guy whose foot is planted.

Chris Simon stomped on someone's ankle with a skate on.  He got suspended many games for it.

I find it amusing how folks here have turned on Manny.  You know that if he were still an O's and doing this some of these same folks would be defending him.

Agree 100%.   But some of what Manny has done is pretty indefensible.  Just not everything people are picking on now.

Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich on Machado...   “One time is an accident, Repeated over and over and over again, it’s a dirty play. It’s a dirty play by a dirty player."

He also said some other stuff as he was walking away.

Not the type of language I would expect from a Christian.

Assuming they are both the same play is delusional. One was intentional the other not

Nobody claimed it was the same play. They were both egregious, though. His intentions were not ambiguous in either play.

No one else seems to have an issue running through first base.. but all of the sudden one of the most heralded and gifted athletes in the game can't keep his feet off the inner-most part of the bag? Nonsense.

It's obviously intentional even in a vacuum. It's utterly undeniable when taken in context with the other questionable parts of his game, such as his backswing and 'handsy' take out slides.

Obvious?

All of those slides were within the rules and designed to break up the DP. Nothing wrong with that.
