Stumbled on this today and it is pure gold.     Maybe it belongs in the O’s history section eventually but hopefully folks will see it here and give it a read.   

Classic examples of how Jim Palmer remembers every pitch he ever threw.

He did say something about facing Reggie Jackson in the 1971 playoffs.

The Orioles played the Twins in the 1971 ALCS.   They didn't face Reggie and the A's in the playoffs until 1973 and 1974.

So Jim's memory is good, but he's not QUITE Marilu Henner.

He is absolutely hysterical.  I've been laughing reading this whole thing, it's been great.

But Palmer seems to think he could touch 97-98.  I didn't think he was ever regarded as that hard of a thrower, was he?

From what I've heard, he threw pretty hard early in his career, but he had an arm injury when he was 22 that robbed him of that velocity.  I'm not sure if it was 97 though...
