Trumbo predictions?

Depends on what kind of a contract he will settle for this off season.  Adam Jones signed a 1/3m contract.  Adam can still play a corner OF spot and he had played a full year in 2018.

Trumbo, coming off an injury that kept him out most of the season,  has to settle for less.   Maybe even a minor league contract with an out if he does not make the team.  Having made almost 60m in baseball over his career I don't know if he would sign a 1/ 1.5m contract.  It may not be worth it to him.

I think he lands a ST invite somewhere that has a need for a DH/Backup COF, and depends on his ST bats, if he makes the lineup there.

No team is desperate enough to play Trumbo as a backup corner outfielder, well unless Buck really does get another manager job.

I think he might get a minor league invite, but I would put the odds at 20%. There are so many 1B/DH types that Trumbo has to compete with.

Para is still hanging around.

I think Trumbo might hit better than AJ, but what do I know.

Never say never, when it comes to MLB.

From what I've read, arthritis was his biggest problem, not recovering from the knee surgery. If arthritis is that big a problem at his age, I can't imagine how painful his future is going to be (I've had two kinds of arthritis for 10 years, but I'm twice his age). I don't see him putting himself through the pain. Seems like he's real good with the young players. Perhaps this is a good time for him to look into transitioning to coaching, if he wants to stay in professional baseball.

Without Trumbo in 2016 we would have neither made it into the Wild Card game vs. Toronto nor scored enough to go into extra innings. He also provided some personality balance to the dugout and media presence of the team. Thanks for the memories!

26 man roster. RH platoon DH. “Professional hitter”. I think he will get a ST invite from someone.

Better chance than if this was last year's rules.  But with today's evaluations he'll get a very minimal offer.  He's basically Adam Jones as a hitter, but with zero ability to field and very spotty injury history.
