There's a lot of reports coming out each day to discuss. Today, for instance, it was reported that Taiwan is preparing to have live attendance at games (250 fans per game). Taiwan has been ahead of everyone, so I'm sure MLB and other leagues will be looking at the success of their actions as a blueprint for what could be possible here.

Also, Scott Boras began advocating for a return of players to training camps as soon as possible. It sounds crazy at first, but makes some sense - starting now would allow teams to have players and staff return in staggered stages, instead of just having everyone come back at once.

There was also a rumor today that Opening Day would start on July 1 - but quickly confirmed to be false. While I doubt there is an official plan from MLB at this point, all of the reports recently have pointed to that timeframe as the leading consideration.

That would be business as usual for the Florida teams.

I dont care too much for Boras, he is a clown IMO.

He does whats best for his own personal sake, and doesnt care about whats best for his players.

Thats just me, he might be a decent guy in RL.

Not to get too far off subject, but Sony's Betamax failed because they would not license anyone else to produce the player or tapes while JVC did allow for other companies to acquire a license to produce VHS. This flooded the market, which drove down the price. When you could get a VHS for $100 and a Betamax may cost 3x t0 4x that, that hurt sales even with the slightly better quality.

Also, the lower cost of producing VHS tapes did allow for the porn industry to pick it as the preferred method which was basically the death nail to Betamax.

Yes and this also was the case for Microsoft in licensing DOS and then Windows for any PC manufacturer.  Although Apple had the superior operating system and hardware Jobs didn't believe in giving it away.  The Ipod saved Apple and allowed their computer hardware to survive.  Even though Microsoft and Apple both are large wealthy corporations, Apple had the last laugh on all that.  However barely.

If they don't play, players won't need new contracts for a while.  Therefore, he will be losing out on some...

I think Boras likes baseball more than the commissioner does.

I think it is going to be tough for Sports, Concerts or anything with large crowds to happen until they find a vaccine for this.  Which probably means at best until next year.  I just wonder if sports leagues will take the chance that any large crowd may risk any outbreak of this.  The projected deaths are going up and down on a daily basis and I don't want to get in the politics behind all of that one way or the other.  I think the general answer is that no one knows for sure.  Eventually they are going to have to let people go back to work and open restaurants, small business's etc.  There will be a risk to that but  at some point is going to have to happen.  I just think playing and watching sports, concerts are going to be the last thing that people are going to look at as essential.  Maybe they will play sports without crowds but I can see the first player that tests positive shutting things down right away again.   I don't see any way college football and college basketball start in 2020.  Only if the number of cases drops off a cliff by late June or July.  As testing increases I don't see that happening.  I hope I am wrong.

I think he's very good for the top end players.  I would not, however like to be a Boras client as the #3 guy at a position with Boras also representing #1 or #2.

I don’t know.  I think Ryu did pretty well for himself at 4/80. Keuchel did well too.

It's honestly fairly sad that I'm looking forward to this. Then again, I found two ants yesterday in my house, put them both in a bowl and watched to see who would get out first. So yeah, this lack of competition to watch is getting bad!

You should have videoed the ant bowl race and sold it to ESPN — they’re pretty desperate for content!

 ? ?
