In Roch's article today Hyde says there could be a pitcher from Bowie coming to start one of the double header games tomorrow.  Maybe has an opener or a more than that.  I am thinking one of the younger guys could get a look.

How does someone coming up now for the last 11 games or so affect their service time?

Bruce Zimmerman for tomorrow's doubleheader?

No, nothing has been announced.   However, here is what Roch is saying:

Remember the O's can add a player for the doubleheader making the active roster 29 players.  Just for the day.

Really good feel to pitch.  He  commands the ball really well.  When I first saw him, I saw Flanagan pitch alot and I saw McGregor pitch a lot, he kind of reminds me a little of a blend of them both. Because he is a guy that can really pitch with his off speed pitches, but he has a good enough heater that when he needs to. He a guy that in the 5th and 6th innings last year in Norfolk, he had plenty in reserve.  He could reach back and show you 94 and 95 in the 5th.  He a good guy to be around.  You are going to get innings out of this guy. He can eat innings. He's a really good competitor.

They would be coming up for just one day as the 29th player allowed for a doubles.  Not for 11 days.

So I imagine it would be one day of service time.

As I've said before it's really easy to manipulate pitcher service time.  As long as you aren't looking at a Sixto Sánchez level of performer no one will blink if a guy gets sent down because a fresh arm is needed.

True but I would not think that is even a concern here.

Next year it will be curious to see not only the Orioles but how the sport in general handles starting pitchers. Have to get thru 162. Nobody especially young arms built up innings this year.

Yes it will be interesting.  I suspect baseball may have some kind of expanded Fall league possibly in a bubble to get some of these guys 5 or so more starts or more innings.

The combo of Kremer and overnight hope that it could be someone even more interesting (is Smith in the mix here?) makes tomorrow's doubleheader almost threaten a need for a socially distanced watch meet up.

Re: Smith, Hays on his dugout postgame interview asked about Bowie did specifically cite a guy from A ball acquired at the trade deadline.  I could see Hays not knowing about Smith's AA cup of coffee.

Agree Zimmermann makes sense, given that Hyde said there was going to need to be a corresponding roster move.    So it’s not someone already on the 40-man roster.    It will be interesting to see who’s getting voted off the island, too.

I would DFA Wojo.

That sounds finally like a promising return for Gausman.
