If a player can bunt for a hit at any time, then why not do it almost every time?

Defense will adjust.  Slow runner in front (like Camden said), becoming the out which would have been in scoring position. Pitchers will adjust and throw more pitches which are hard to put down for a bunt.

Just a few thoughts why not to do it to too much.  But I do think it should be a regular part of his attack.  Would be great if he can balance bunting with even a little power, make it tougher for the defense and pitching to adapt.

Did he face any LHP batting lefty in the minors? How did we not realize at some point in his minor league career that he can't hit righty? Good move but hopefully not too little too late.

It’s pretty typical to stick with switch hitting as long as you can.   My recollection is that Mullins had one year in the minors where he hit decently as a RHB, but it was always his weak side and he certainly has done poorly in the majors as a RHB (.147/.250/.189 in 111 PA.

Now the question is, can he hit LHP any better as a LHB than he did as a RHB?    We’ll see.

Even if he can't, at least he can devote all his batting practice time to hitting righthanded and not have to spend a certain percentage of the time on something that will ultimately be fruitless.

Those are all switching hitting I believe.
