How is that the bright side?

They used 7 pitchers last night.  They don't have an infinite supply.  And we have another game with them about 15 hours after this one ends.  Make them use a bunch of relief innings tonight and Kikuchi will be on his own tomorrow.

Ruiz is now 1 for 16 with runners in scoring position.   With a runner on 3rd and less than 2 out, he’s 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts.

As Buck used to say,”this is who we have.”

which begs the question, of course, of why the %#*^ is he all you have?

I was always furious that the beats never asked that question.

Lopez came in with the following first time through the order stats:

6/40 with 0 extrabase hits, 4 walks, 1 HBP, 13 strikeouts

.150/.244/.150/.394

And tonight so far add 1 single in 7 at bats to that.  Two batters to go...

Anyone know why Valaika isn't playing?

He wasn't in the original planned  lineup last night either.  Only got put in when DJ had a sore back and Mountcastle moves from DH to OF and Franco from 3B to DH and Ruiz from 2B to 3B.

I imagine Valaika will start tomorrow afternoon vs the lefty.
