Josh Rodgers Signs with Nats

I don’t know a ton about him but my initial reaction was being surprised he wasn’t given more time coming off a big injury. I am curious if anyone has any feedback on him being cut loose. Obviously not a good start to the year before getting cut.

When was he cut? I’m not upset by the move, I thought he was just another stupid part of a stupid trade return, but I’ve been trying to stay in a loop on transactions, and I missed this one.

Yeah, that was a blatantly awful return at the time it was made. Pretty much all of those deadline deals were quantity over quality. So gross they could've traded Britton the year before to Houston, who was desperate, and gotten Teoscar Hernandez (they gave him away for a rental of Francisco friggin Liriano so no doubt we could've had him), Colin Moran and a pitcher like Framber Valdez as well. We even had a deal in place with them.

They were pretty cleaning spots off their 40 man.

He had his debut tonight and got the win in a 19-1 victory, wowza! 5.2 innings, 1 run, 6 hits, 3 k’s.

That's his minor league debut with the Nats.

Rodgers had his first subpar outing last night with Nats Rochester team. I just am surprised they didn’t give him longer coming off injury, but we will see.
