Mullins, Santandar and Frazier got off the slow starts in April. They are all on heaters now. But the point is when they couldn't buy a hit you didn't see them sulking, acting like a victim and complaining. This is baseball. Kiermaier is doing his job. Nobody is going to feel sorry for Gunnar and nobody has the time for a whiner in MLB baseball. He's playing with grown men. If you're going to play with men, then act like a man.

As long as they don't concuss themselves I don't care.

The downvote is for the man comment.

That's something children say right?

Yes being able to control yourself, outbursts and behavior is expected with manhood. Gunnar has been acting like a spoiled adolescent out there. Hopefully he grows out of this with age.

He's 21 and learning. Learning is hard. I appreciate the emotion. I think you have to expect it from a 21 year old who has probably whooped ass his entire life and is now being challenged.

I don't think it's cause for alarm unless he concusses himself as CoC suggested prior.

He is 21, but the league is 28. My employer doesn't tolerate of approve of bad behavior by its youngest employees and neither should MLB. Somebody should remind Gunnar that he is a professional ballplayer and not in a beer league. He needs to focus on his next AB and stop whining.

The conversation has actually gotten more foolish. I didn’t think that could happen but I guess I continue to underestimate people.

Why? I said Gunnar needs to grow up and act like a man. The responses thus far is that Gunnar is young. So that's where we are now? Gunnar is too young to take control of his own behavior?

I think that maybe if you had said "Act like an adult" or "Act like a professional" your comments would not be treated with such derision.

Seems like everybody here is in agreement, but only has issues with the semantics of it. So I see no need to really press further.

He’s 21, facing a lot more day-to-day pressure to perform and public scrutiny than 99.9% of the population.  What has he done - made a couple of frustrated-looking faces that happened to be caught on camera because, well, he’s on camera on a daily basis?   Horrors!

Gunnar has done nothing but try his best to be a good player for this franchise and say all of the right things about his teammates and the organization. He's not showing up his coaches or teammates. He's frustrated by himself and by the absolutely awful institution of baseball umpires.

Everyone except you.

What I said was if your choice of language was better we wouldn't be reacting as negatively towards your statements.  That doesn't mean we agree with them.

No, it’s just foolishness. Players act frustrated all the time.  It’s a poor argument against him.

This is why it’s dumb and foolish.
