KC is starting a really good pitcher today.

I don’t really see the issue with the lineup… only one really missing is ADLEY.

Well, technically you are correct. The bigger issue would be some of the players getting starts at the moment. I can't even get my head wrapped around how they are winning.

I guess this is my point.

It’s truly amazing to see lightning in a bottle being caught time and time again with guys who historically offensively suck. Frazier, Hicks, McCann, O’Hearn.

They have some kind of secret sauce.

You are forgetting the folks over the last few years that they missed on.

Dwight Smith Jr as an example.

Also, McCann-

2023- 64 OPS+

2022- 56 OPS+

2021- 76 OPS+

Career- 82 OPS+.

I'm not seeing any McCann lightning.

Frazier is also below his career average OPS.

And we are trotting out a hideous lineup!!!

With so much talent in the organization (Triple A and MLB) we are still managing to put a lineup out there where 6 out of the 9 starters realistically belong on the bench or not even on the roster.

Probably still enough to beat the Royals.

I’m confused…McCann is straight up terrible…in fact he is even worse than I expected him to be. Frazier is having one of the worst seasons of his career and it only doesn’t seem that way because he is doing better than his insanely bad 2022 season. O’Hearn doesn’t have much history whatsoever at the MLB level. You’re right about Hicks though

I guess what I’m saying is with all of these names consistently in the lineup, they are continuing to win.

Individually they are demonstrably bad, yet the collective results are 40-24. It’s fascinating.

It makes me wonder how good could they could be with the right call ups...or, would it have a negative effect on the team.

Of the four players referenced, Hicks and O’Hearn are doing significantly better than expected.   Frazier is pretty much exactly where I’d have expected, slightly below is career average at an age where most players have declined a little.  Only McCann has disappointed me among the group mentioned by @Hank Scorpio.
